Friday night in the big city...

Another big Friday night and it's all good... Darren came over for our usual Friday night routine. Here it is:

1. Complain about going to the gym. It's really hard to go to the gym on Friday after class. The only reason I go is because he makes me. Left to my own devices... Friday night workouts wouldn't be on the agenda.

2. Go to the gym. I'd go on Friday mornings if it was up to me. Mornings are the best time to go to the gym because you just wake up, roll out of bed, and get it over with. Anyway tonight we did chest. I hate doing chest. I hate it more than anything else except for legs, and I refuse to do legs because I get enough leg exercise running and biking. So yeah, chest is the worst.

3. Sushi. There's a really really really good sushi place beside the gym. All you can eat. Enough said.

4. Dairy Queen blizzards. This is pretty evil, but after stuffing ourselves on sushi we head over to the Dairy Queen for blizzards, and I usually have cookie dough mixed with something else. My new 24 hours of guilt free good eatins' is 7pm Friday till 7pm Saturday. And I eat really well the rest of the week to make up for it, or the guilt free part would be totally impossible!!

5. Lost. We've finished watching season one on DVD and now we're just watching the weekly episodes that I tape on Wednesdays. I love that show. And we just started watching season one of Desperate Housewives.

So that's the Friday night of fun. Unfortunately Darren fell asleep about fifteen minutes into Lost so he had to go to bed. I didn't want to watch it by myself... so I'm doing this.

Okay so back to LSLAP and pro bono (read the last entry if that statement doesn't make any sense). I had my first LSLAP clinic on Tuesday (that's the law students legal advice program). I'm at the Britannia clinic which is in East Van... Commercial and Napier for those who know the area. There are interesting people around there. I think I'm going to like it better than last year. Last year I was out in New West and I had to take on three to five new clients every clinic. On Tuesday I had to take... only one. It's pretty busy but there are about ten clinicians so no one person has to do a lot. The file I did take was easy.... the guy had been in prison for a while and he wanted to file for bankruptcy. I referred him to credit counselling and closed the file the next day. I'm sure they won't all be that easy. The thing I liked about New West was that it was a seniors' center so there were a lot of wills. Wills are so easy. I don't know what to expect at Britannia, but I'll keep ya posted. As for pro bono... I know I'm going to be working for BC Civil Liberties and that's pretty much all I know. I've got a meeting next week so I'll have something to say about pro bono after that.

Somebody was parked in my parking space again tonight. It hasn't happened for about a month but it may be the single most annoying thing that I can think of right now. So I put a note on the windshield. And I just checked and now the car is gone. I hope they got the message. Literally. I pay for that parking spot and people just... park there. I can't explain how that makes me feel. I know, I know, you're thinking "if that's all he has to complain about..." Well it's not all I have to complain about. Worse things are happening. But nothing gets under my skin quite like people who take my parking spot. We had to park in the front with all the other cars and now someone will have to get up at like 7am to move the car. That sucks. Anyway...

That's all for tonight. I was going to talk about the stellar week on TV but that'll have to wait for another entry... because now, I need to sleep.
